Professor Dan Berney is a graduate of Jesus College Cambridge and UCL and was a registrar at Barts and The Royal London. He divides his time between Genitourinary pathology at Barts Health NHS Trust and research as Professor and Principal Investigator at the Barts Cancer Institute at Queen Mary University of London. He heads the Orchid Tissue Bank, an internationally significant resource for cancer research analysis which encompasses the histopathology of all three male-specific cancers; prostate, testis and penile. Professor Berney has been the Chairman of the Association of Uro-Pathologists (BAUP). He was appointed NHS Professor of Genitourinary pathology in October 2012 and is Secretary of the International Society of Urological Pathology, as well as International Secretary of the BDIAP.
