Professor of Anatomic Pathology; Associate Professor Faculty of Medicine, Eduardo Mondlane University; Head of Anatomical Pathology Department Maputo Central Hospital, Maputo, Mozambique. 

Dr. Carla Carrilho graduated in 1992 from the Faculty of Medicine of the Eduardo Mondlane University. She became an anatomic pathologist in 2000. She obtained her master and the PhD degrees from the University of Oporto, Portugal in 1998 and 2005 respectively. Head of the Department of Pathology of the main teaching hospital in Mozambique since 2003 became Associated Professor of Pathology in 2006.She is responsible for residence training program in Anatomical Pathology in the Mozambican College of Pathology. She is part of the team of the MEPI program in Mozambique. Her major areas of interest are cancer registry, HPV and autopsy pathology. She has published several articles mainly on HPV and genital cancer, H. pylori in gastric pathology, and cancer and maternal mortality.
